Ernie DeSantis--DH Owner and President

I'd like to introduce myself; my name is Ernie DeSantis of "DeSantis Hunting-DH".  I graduated from the University of Michigan, and am nearing the completion of a Master's Degree in Administration and Educational Leadership. I'm 32 years old and have been avidly pursuing white-tailed bucks since I was 8 (sitting in the blind with Dad).  For as long as I can remember, I have always been enamored by the likes of whitetail antler, and the freedom of the outdoors.

Over the years my family and I have been very fortunate to spend so much quality time together hunting and have also managed to take some really nice bucks throughout the process.

Although we do enjoy the hunt, we also do a tremendous amount of work to improve the habitat as well.  From planting shelter belts and 5 acre pine tree thickets, to creating and maintaining Trophy Rock sites to further promote antler growth, bone development, and highly nutritious doe-milk.

I have now taken this passsion to the next level by producing a video series, "Experience Real Hunting" Our show, along with our "DH Series" DVDs captures the Real Hunter in real situations. It's not your typical video--these hunts tell an exciting story all the way up to the harvest.  You will meet the hunters, listen to real discussion, and see real tips that the day-to-day hunters, like us, can use and relate to.

Hello, and welcome to DeSantis Hunting,  my name is Jose’ Del Otero.

I was born in Caracus Venezuela on September 29th, 1973, but raised in southern Michigan.  Introduced to  hunting as a young man,  little did I know, it would change my life forever.  

I enjoy my free time with my family and friends camping, fishing and hunting.  My appreciation for the outdoors has become my life’s passion. Hey there fellow outdoor enthusiasts, my name is Jerry Scott.  Let me tell you a little bit about myself.  I was born and raised here in Michigan, September of 1972,  as I watched and listened to my dad tell stories about his outdoor experiences, I was hooked.

Fishing, camping, and hunting became a huge part of my life, and as time went on, my passion for hunting grew more and more intense.  My satisfaction of being in the outdoors comes from watching and listening to all sorts of wild life.  With each hunt you learn more and more, and you quickly realize it’s not just going out for the “BIG ONE”.

So for me hunting is the most gratifying, and rewarding sport that I could be a part of, and to do so as a prostaff hunter and share my experiences with other hunters is a privilege.

Ernie DeSantis Sr.--DH ProStafffer

Hello.  I am Ernie DeSantis Sr.  For me, the outdoors and the great sport of hunting has been an evolution.  In the early days, my main interest was a successful harvest.  This started with my first small game hunt in the mid 1960’s when my father bought me my first 12 gauge shotgun.  A few years later my brother joined me and my dad, and from that time forward I was very fortunate to have enjoyed may days outdoors with family and friends.

In 1976 my son (now the president of DH) was born.  Ernie really connected with the outdoors and made it easy for me to introduce him to the hunting and fishing sports.  As a result, he too joined our hunt team and has blessed me with many hours of quality time together pursuing a sport we both love.  I could tell you many stories of our adventures.  But most noteworthy is that when Ernie started hunting with me, the next phase of my hunting evolution began.  At that time, my focus changed from just purely the harvest to the camaraderie of the hunt, and doing all I could to improve my son’s experiences in the field. 

We continued to be driven by the excitement of the pursuit, we are always mindful of fair chase, we used all game that we harvested, we showed a deep respect for the sport and behaved as a Steward of the land and the wildlife.   I am proud that Ernie has continued to build, and expand on those same values.  As we enter the next phase of our hunting evolution, we hope to bring you in video, the same excitement and adventure of the hunt that has captured us for a lifetime.

Hey outdoors lovers! My name is Brian “Will” Williams and I too have been a lover of the outdoors for all of my thirty-one years.  Whether it is camping with my wife and kids, hiking in the U.S. national parks, or enjoying time in the woods hunting with my lifelong friends involved with DeSantis hunting. 

I am fairly new to hunting. Two years ago, while spending a weekend with Ernie and our families at their northern Michigan cottage, I found myself really admiring a turkey fan mount on the wall and thought that is something I would really like to try.  That next spring I was in the woods with shotgun in hand!  Currently, I am just concentrating on harvesting a big Tom and that means I can spend deer season “hunting” with a video camera.

My love of the outdoors and spending time with friends and family is what drew me to get involved with DeSantis Hunting.  We are not only about the hunting but the betterment of the land we use.  We hope to show you that the more you give to the land the more it will give to you!
